Welcome to Cromwell Dog
At Cromwell Dog the happiness and well-being of your furry friend is at the heart of what we do. We only use kind, ethical and positive approaches. Choice, freedom and fun are a given.
Many clients who use our services for walks, home boarding or training (or a combination!) have been with us for many years and trust us completely with their pets.
Our services
Walks
- one or two dogs only
- dogs with no reactivity or pulling issues
- ad hoc or regular
- only let off lead if in secure field
- free meet up first to check we are all happy
- can keep key (DBS checked)
Training walks
- for dogs who need a higher level of attention and management on a walk
- techniques like loose lead walking, reactivity to dogs/people/vehicles, helpful for separation anxiety cases to support dog being apart from owner for a short while
- no strong heavy pullers as my knees are not what they were
- can book secure field for off lead
- booked after initial training and behaviour assessment, often as part of a wider behaviour and training goals plan
Behaviour and training
- assessment and practical one-to-one sessions package
- come to you for a meet up and chat through, no long questionnaires
- speciality: holistic overview of your dog's world to tweak and perfect - from equipment to exercise to understanding dog communication: Border Collies, rescue dogs and crazy teenagers welcome!
- together we come up with targeted, achievable training goals to fit into your busy life
- regular WhatsApp support in between sessions to ping over questions, photos and videos for feedback and cute tax

Home boarding
- five-star, higher level dog home boarding service
- licensed and inspected dog boarding number 20/00273/AWAAL)
- (IMDT) Level 3 in Professional Daycare and Boarding
- fifth year of operation
- for dogs who get along with other dogs / are toilet trained / can travel in a van / do not get upset if they cannot have constant human contact (it is not fair on anyone if dogs have separation anxiety and are unprepared)
- it is not a board and train (might offer that one day when the kids leave school!)
- lengthy and careful settling in process to ensure everyone is happy
- for dogs two-and-a-half years old or older (younger ones do not do well away from a home environment in our experience)
To complete a home boarding enquiry form which includes pricing and settling in process get in touch
Inclusion and sustainability
I choose to study with PACT - a dog training education provider: a B Corp organisation with a focus on sustainability.
We drive an electric van.
The poop bags we use are biodegradable.
We rarely mow the lawn so the bees have somewhere to go.
Without wanting to be glib we recognise there is always more to be done but we try to do our bit.
We aim to be inclusive, recognising mobility and learning differences. Our daughter is autistic with a demand avoidant profile and we have a good knowledge of neurodiversity. We have worked with people with physical and mobility limitations, and collaborated with them on novel ways of adapting dog handling and training accordingly.

REVIEWS
Testimonials from Cromwell Dog customers
"I would highly recommend Lisa’s pet care, she looked after my mum’s cat whilst she was in hospital. Lisa started by thoroughly establishing the cat’s needs. All our expectations were met. I would definitely use this service again."
Laura Love
"Lisa is an incredibly trustworthy lady, highly recommended. My boy has a blast when he’s with her and comes back a happy and tired doggo."
Suzanne Johnson
"Reliable, brilliant communication, trustworthy and lovely service. My dog, Ella, doesn't "do" people but she is always happy to see Lisa and can't wait to go out for her hour walk. Ella always comes back worn out and happy. 5-star all the way."
Annabelle Saunders
"Fabulous service. During a recent spell in hospital for my mother, Lisa bravely looked after her infernal cat — Jack. The wonderful Lisa brought out the softer side of the wretched animal — and had him purring and batting his eyelids like never before. These are rare — almost magical — skills!"
Edward Higgins
"Absolutely amazing service! Ebony is realllllly anxious but has been pampered to the highest standard. Really thorough questioning to ensure protection and understanding of my puppy. Regular exercise and enrichment were provided. I’ve come away knowing she is happy and safe! In a trustworthy enriched environment. Thank you."
Dani Griffiths
"Lisa has been looking after Bella for almost a year now, she is highly knowledgeable on dog behaviour and training techniques and overall does a fantastic job!"
Andy Boulden
"I would highly recommend...Lisa is friendly, trustworthy, knowledgeable and reliable. She has been looking after my ‘Maggie’ for over a year, taking her out for walks when I’m working. She has been flexible when needed and communication is excellent. The times I’ve been home whilst Lisa has arrived to collect Maggie, Maggie is excited and can’t wait to get her harness on for a walk with her."
Hayley Cousins
"My dog Rudy loves boarding here and it's so handy for me being so close to the station. I can drop him off and head into London for a few days (for work OR fun!) and he has the best time - sometimes I worry he won't want to come home with me afterwards!"
